The Atkinson Foundation commissioned University of Toronto’s Mowat Centre for two reports on how economic action can be taken to restructure local community wealth. The first report deals with the roles that Anchor Institutions play in local economies through the impact that their procurement and property development functions can have. The second considers how Community Benefits Agreements can be applied to large scale development projects.
In finalizing these reports, Atkinson Foundation facilitated a conversation with TCBN, East Scarborough Storefront, Evergreen City Works, Parkdale Activity and Recreation Centre and policy staff from City Social Development in a meeting with Mowat Centre representatives.
