The concept of Community Benefits Agreements (CBAs) is finally starting to take roots in Ontario. The Community Benefits Framework signed between the Toronto Community Benefits Network and Metrolinx has just completed its first year of implementation with significant achievements to note. It is a model that partners want to see replicated in all major infrastructure and urban development projects in Canada.
While this Project is in its early stages of development, CBAs is not a new concept. CBAs and different variations of CBAs have been successfully used in Canada and North America to create jobs and opportunities for underrepresented groups. This poster presentation is meant to be a visual representation of research on community benefits sourced locally, nationally and internationally from researchers from a variety of academic backgrounds and perspectives.
