March 24th at 12:00pm: Academic Poster Presentations

The concept of Community Benefits Agreements (CBAs) in Canada is in its early stages of development and is finally starting to take roots in Ontario, but it is not a new concept. This poster presentation is meant to be a visual representation of research on community benefits sourced locally, nationally and internationally from researchers from a variety of academic backgrounds and perspectives. To learn more, download poster guidelines HERE.

Location: University of Toronto Faculty of Law

Duration: from 12pm to 5pm

CBAs and different variations of CBAs have been successfully used in Canada and North America to create jobs and opportunities for underrepresented groups. The Community Benefits Framework signed between the Toronto Community Benefits Network and Metrolinx has just completed its first year of implementation with significant achievements to note. It is a model that partners want to see replicated in all major infrastructure and urban development projects in Canada.
