Following the 2 day Creating Opportunities Summit on March 23 & 24, the Green Change from the Jane Finch Centre are working in partnership with TCBN, Duke Heights BIA and York University Osgoode Hall School to host a 1-day follow-up conversation and learning experience to take ideas to action.

We are inviting a mix of designers, frontline workers, policy-makers, non-profit professionals, academics, facilitators, and most importantly, community members to participate in a unique action-oriented day.

The day will begin with a time machine walk where participants will step 15 years into the future of Jane and Finch to see how Community Benefits have taken shape and how the neighbourhood has been impacted. The walk will connect the Design Lab participants to resident stories from the neighbourhood and reinforce the importance of how community benefits strategies and conversations need to be firmly grounded in local stories and experiences.

Following the walk, participants will take part in a rapid-fire design workshop to bring ideas to action. The goal of the Design Lab is to foster new relationships, weave together diverse perspectives and to deepen learning from the Creating Opportunities Summit.
