Register to join the Toronto Community Benefits Network's Good Jobs & Community Benefits for Etobicoke-York Town Hall.

You will learn more about good jobs, community benefits opportunities, environmental impacts and neigbourhood improvements as part of the new Eglinton West Extension LRT project and discuss the importance of a Community Benefits Agreement which includes community at the table! 

The meeting will include information about: 

  • Apprenticeships opportunities including at minimum 10% diverse hiring targets for women, Indigenous, Black, people of colour in Etobicoke and York areas
  • Professional, Administrative, Technical career opportunities for women, Indigenous, Black, people of colour in Etobicoke and York areas
  • Procurement targets and opportunities for local businesses in Etobicoke York area, Indigenous owned businesses, minority owned businesses and social enterprises
  • Anti Racism strategy for contractors including requirement for training for all workers on site
  • Environmental Impacts
  • Neighbourhood improvements and Affordable Housing 
  • Opportunities for local arts projects and initiatives 
  • Accountability and Transparency - The importance of tracking, monitoring disaggregated data and Community Benefits Working Group with community involvement  

We have concerns about the current Metrolinx plans and need your involvement and support to ensure all of these areas addressed before the Eglinton West Extension project moves forward!
