International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 793

The International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 793 represents thousands of crane and heavy equipment operators in Ontario’s construction industry. Local 793 stands in solidarity with the TCBN by actively participating on the coalition's Construction and Apprentice Committee and by providing support in the screening and selection process for apprenticeship candidates coming through the community benefits stream.


Society of Energy Professionals

The Society of Energy Professionals has demonstrated a commitment to promoting the importance of Community Benefit Agreements through its ongoing partnership with the TCBN. In November 2016 the Society of Energy Professionals hosted a meeting on how precarious work impacts professionals and how The Society can help to reduce precarity among professionals. 


Sheet Metal Workers' & Roofers' Local Union 30

The Sheet Metal Workers' & Roofers' Local Union 30 stands in solidarity with the TCBN in upholding our commitment to maintaining our Community Benefits Agreement by opening its centre to us for tours. This serves as a way to get our members motivated about pursuing a career in the trades as they can visualize themselves in the work space. The Sheet Metal Workers also provides the TCBN with job opportunities within the union as they become available. The Sheet Metal Workers have also attended the TCBN's public meetings over the years, where community members were able to network with union representatives.


LiUNA Local 506

LiUNA Local 506 provides just-in-time and custom training programs. We work together with labour, management, government and community service providers to promote health and safety in the workplace, while meeting the growing training needs of our various industries. Each year we continue to develop specialized skills & safety training through certification, retraining and apprenticeship programs. Local 506 has Training Delivery Agent status in four apprenticeships, and recruits 60 to 70 new apprentices each year. Successful apprentices are all dispatched to work once they have completed their level 1 apprenticeship training.  LiUNA Local 506 Training Centre provides health and safety training to Building UP participants, Toronto Community Housing residents, Hammer Heads and other community groups. LiUNA Local 506 is dedicated to Toronto Community Benefits Network and supporting newly enacted CBA’s throughout the Province of Ontario.


LiUNA Local 183

LiUNA Local 183 stands in solidarity with the TCBN in upholding our commitment to maintaining our community benefits agreement by opening its centre to us for tours. This serves as a way to get our members motivated about pursuing a career in the trades as they can visualize themselves in the work space. LiUNA 183 also provides the TCBN with job opportunities within the union as they become available. LiUNA's African American Caucus also supports TCBN's work as it strives to reach racialized communities in Toronto. 


Ironworkers Local 721

The Ironworkers Local 721 stands in solidarity with the TCBN in upholding our commitment to maintaining our Community Benefits Agreement by opening its centre to us for tours. This serves as a way to get our members motivated about pursuing a career in the trades as they can visualize themselves in the work space. The Ironworkers also provides the TCBN with job postings as they become available.


International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 353

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 353 stands in solidarity with the TCBN in upholding our commitment to maintaining our Community Benefits Agreement by opening its centre to us for tours. This serves as a way to get our members motivated about pursuing a career in the trades as they can visualize themselves in the work space. The IBEW also provides us with job postings as they become available.


Hospitality Workers Training Centre

The Hospitality Workers Training Centre serves as an ally with the TCBN in working to give access to historically marignalized and equity-seeking groups in Toronto, by promoting industry-based training in the hospitality sector as a way to create better jobs, stability and higher wages.


Elementary Teachers of Toronto

As an organization, the Elementary Teachers of Toronto have supported the work of the Toronto and York Region Labour Council to support the work of the TCBN.


Carpenters Union, Local 27

The Carpenters Union, Local 27 has demonstrated a commitment to Community Benefits Agreements by connecting Toronto's communities to equitable jobs in the trades, and by opening their training centres for tours in order to motivate the community to pursue a career in the trades.
