NEXGEN BUILDERS MENTORING PROGRAM
TCBN’s groundbreaking mentoring program, NexGen Builders, is now being scaled up to accept more mentors and mentees. There is a waiting list of more than 70 mentees that we are working with to train over the next several months and match with a mentor from their desired trade.
All mentees from our first pilot are now successfully pursuing a career in their chosen trades such as - Operating Engineer, Electrical Worker, Carpenter, Labourer and Plumber. We thank participating unions for their support and we are actively recruiting new mentors. Become a Mentor.
QUICK START IN CONSTRUCTION
With a growing shortage of skilled trades workers, given the opportunity, women have the potential to make significant gains in this male dominated industry. TCBN invites women to enter a Red Seal trade through Quick Start in Construction. Programs are 140 hours in length, offered on evenings and weekends or weekdays from Monday to Friday. Learn more.

Our Professional Development Series for Service Providers breaks it down for you. Learn more and complete Expression of Interest here.
REGENT PARK COMMUNITY BENEFITS COALITION
Since the Winter QGM in Regent Park, the TCBN has been active in supporting the Regent Park Neighbourhood Association (RPNA) in leading a local Community Benefits Coalition of residents, community groups and organizations. The goal of the coalition is to secure a legally binding agreement with Toronto Community Housing (TCH) and selected developer that commits to both short and long term community benefits in Regent Park. After weeks of negotiations with TCH, the Coalition is excited to announce a Community Benefits Framework Agreement for Phase 4 and 5 of revitalization in Regent Park. More details to come.
