With support from the Ontario Ministry of Children and Youth Services, through its Black Youth Action Plan, TCBN is leveraging our work negotiating Community Benefits to focus on Creating Career Opportunities for Black Youth. This strategy will include a range of activities with our partners that include mentorship for Black youth apprentices and professional, administrative and technical workers and entrepreneurs.

To guide our work, we are setting up a Lived Experience Leadership Table comprised of Black youth or adults exploring, entering or working in the unionized construction sector. This table will help inform our mentoring strategy and make recommendations for contractors and unions, that will improve access, and the work experience and career journey of Black Youth in Construction.
