The Future of Toronto Malls – Winning Affordable Housing at Fairview

In May, Build a Better Fairview hosted a community meeting with local City Councillor Shelley Carroll to discuss the future of the Fairview Mall. The owner of property, Cadillac Fairview is proposing 12 new condo towers with additional developments planned at the surrounding intersections at Don Mills Station.
The meeting was an opportunity for local residents, community groups, organizations and businesses to discuss the neighbourhood's urgent needs for community benefits, affordable and sustainable housing, pedestrian infrastructure, good job opportunities and community facilities like schools, parks, and child care.
BABF is advocating to ensure these priorities are reflected in the Fairview Mall redevelopment plan. To learn more and get involved, visit http://buildabetterfairview.ca/

Since 2022, the TCBN has supported the Build A Better Fairview coalition, a group of residents, community and service organizations dedicated to the responsible, equitable and sustainable development of the Fairview area. BABF is actively working with local City Councillor, Shelley Carroll to ensure Cadillac Fairview meets the community’s expectation for equitable and responsible development as part of its Fairview Mall development plan.
