Join the Toronto Community Benefits Network (TCBN) and the Toronto Environmental Alliance (TEA) for an evening of learning and discussion on the importance of climate action and environmental sustainability as part of the future of the Downsview area.
During the session on Earth Week, participants will explore a wide range of topics on climate action such as parks and green spaces, buildings and built environment, green jobs, mobility and more. Join us for an evening of learning and discussion to help inform local priorities for an inclusive and sustainable future of the Downsview area.
Food and light refreshments will be provided.

Background
In 2021, the TCBN launched the CBAforDownsview campaign. Since then, the TCBN network has engaged over 1,500 local residents and stakeholders to help shape an inclusive, sustainable and affordable future of the Downsview area which is centred on the following key priorities:
- Good jobs and economic opportunities in planning, design, construction, maintenance and operations
- Social Procurement to support local businesses, diverse owned businesses and social enterprises
- Neighbourhood Improvements including affordable housing, community and recreation spaces and affordable commercial/retail spaces
- Environmental Sustainability and protections of the urban park area and surrounding green spaces to support food justice initiatives
- Monitoring and Accountability mechanisms to ensure commitments are followed through including community oversight during implementation and a process to monitor, track and report on outcomes
