Last month, the Gordie Howe Bridge officially opened, providing a new cross-border bridge and multi-use path. The federal-led project included a Community Benefits Plan featuring a Workforce Development and Participation Strategy and Neighbourhood Infrastructure Strategy. Reporting included 41% local hires (over 870 pre-apprentices/apprentices placed) and nearly $22M in allocated funds towards neighbourhood improvements.
