On July 3rd, 2025, the Toronto Community Benefits Network submitted a letter and deputed at the North York Community Council in response to Northcrest Developments Downsview Taxiway West district plan proposal. TCBN Executive Director, Rosemarie Powell, spoke to the committee to express TCBN’s support for Northcrest’s proposed Community Benefits Plan for the Taxiway West District, the first for a private sector-led development in Toronto.

The community benefits plan commits to a minimum of $10M target for community benefits and social procurement. The Taxiway District Plan was approved with some recommendations from the Community Council and will later be considered by City Council on July 23, 24 and 25, 2025.
