TCBN welcomes the provincial government’s consultation on increasing apprenticeship training and workforce opportunities on public infrastructure projects which aligns with our mandate to advocate for good jobs and opportunities whenever the government buys or builds. At a time when communities across Ontario are facing the impacts of tariffs along with higher unemployment rates, especially amongst youth, the government must utilize every dollar spent strategically while providing value to the taxpayer.
In our submission, we make the case on why Community Benefits Agreements are a proven approach and model that should be expanded across all infrastructure projects in Ontario. If done right, we can build world class infrastructure while simultaneously bringing shared prosperity to communities across Ontario.
