As the Government of Canada embarks on a significant infrastructure program as part of the 2025 budget, incorporating conditions for CBAs into these projects and funding programs can ensure the effective use of public dollars. In the submission, we highlight case studies and make the case for CBAs as a prominent strategy that can ensure federal projects, procurement and purchasing are prioritizing equity, local employment and apprenticeship training and participation of Canadian businesses.
