The Toronto Community Benefits Network in collaboration with the Toronto Environmental Alliance Downsview Neighbourhood Tour took place on Saturday, September 27th, 2025 from 12:30–2:30pm.

The event launch, opening remarks, and a brief presentation on the Youth Policy Table were held at the TCBN office before participants made their way to the YZD Experience Centre for a guided tour of Northcrest Developments’ new facility by Aytakin Mohammadi and a chance to learn more about their role within the large-scale 30+ year Downsview Lands redevelopment project. The ensuing discussions revolved around diverse topics such as environmental sustainability, green standards and net-zero approaches, transit extensions, and more. The tour eventually concluded with a brief presentation from Lori Beazer about the future of social procurement and accessible/affordable commercial spaces in Downsview at the final YZD Farmers Market of the season, located just a few minutes’ walk from the YZD Experience Centre.
