In July, the TCBN met with City of Toronto staff and Canada Lands Company to confirm a process towards finalizing a Community Benefits Plan for the Downsview West district development. At the July council meeting, it was confirmed that the City will lead a process to develop and finalize a Community Benefits Plan in the first quarter of 2027. 

This will be the second district at Downsview to include a Community Benefits Plan, following Northcrest Developments $10M commitment towards local jobs and procurement as part of the Taxiway district development which was announced last Summer.

Affordable Housing 

The City will also be working with CLC to improve its affordable housing plan including longer affordability periods and leveraging available City incentives. For more information, please visit here
