Susan McIsaac, President & CEO, United Way of Toronto and York Region

New infrastructure and community benefits should go hand in hand because they link the future success of our region's infrastructure with the future success of our people.  United Way research shows a growing divide in our region in terms of access to opportunities for residents.

At the same time, availability of skilled labour has been a constant concern amidst the region's construction boom. Community benefits are the smart, sustainable and transformative solution: To build new lasting bonds across our divided city. To build hope and opportunity. To build our region's future.
