Toronto Workforce Innovation Group

Our mandate is to conduct research on Toronto’s workforce development trends, gaps and opportunities and report our findings to the public by:
  • Providing accurate, current labour market information to business, policy makers, service providers, and media
  • Promoting programs and/or approaches that support economic growth and workforce development in Toronto to influence public policy

Toronto Workforce Innovation Group continues to support the work of the Toronto Community Benefits Network. We are a member of a project advisory group and believe that Community Benefit Agreements are an important tool in diversifying the trades work force, building skills and capacity and improving local and regional prosperity. TWIG works with colleagues at other workforce planning boards in Ontario to support their involvement in local community benefit coalitions.

Industry Trends

TWIG understands the importance of the relationships between industry trends, labour market information and other economic and demographic factors. A thorough analysis of Toronto’s economy can reveal critical information to help guide individual job seekers and be used to inform local workforce strategic planning and action
