South Asian Women Rights Organization (SAWRO)

On June 25, 2015 South Asian Women Rights Organization (SAWRO) hosted a resident engagement session for Toronto's South Asian community living in the City's east-end, in order to inform them on what a community benefits agreement (CBA) is, the benefits of a CBA, who the Toronto Community Benefits Network is, and how residents can benefit from a CBA. 49 participants were served. 


Scarborough Campus Students’ Union

The Scarborough Campus Students’ Union demonstrates a commitment to removing barriers for historically marginalized and equity-seeking groups by advocating for the rights of the University of Toronto Scarborough's students. The SCSU shows solidarity with TCBN and other community organizations by uniting in the pursuit to see more Community Benefits Agreements come to pass.


Mount Dennis/Weston Network

The Mount Dennis/Weston Network has demonstrated a commitment to improving the lives of Toronto's historically marginalized and equity-seeking groups as it is one of the founding organizations to form the TCBN.


Mount Dennis Community Association (MDCA)

Mount Dennis Community Association (MDCA) had a major impact on the Crosstown, both with development of TCBN and with the design of the Mount Dennis station and maintenance yard.


Labour Community Services

Labour Community Services has worked extensively with TCBN to aid in our growth. LCS has also worked with the Labour Community Education Centre to advance community benefits as a means of deriving economic benefits for residents in local communities where infrastructure spending occurs. In 2015, the LCS saw the Ontario government’s inclusion of community benefits principles enacted in Bill 6 (the Infrastructure for Jobs and Prosperity Act) as a positive step.


Klink Coffee

Klink Coffee exemplifies a commitment to upholding Community Benefit Agreements, as it offers former inmates employment opportunities, thus breaking down the barrier of marginalization that they often experience. 


Jamaican Canadian Association

The Jamaican Canadian Association stands in solidarity with the TCBN in upholding its Community Benefits Agreement by inviting the TCBN to job fairs and making the space available for TCBN events, so that community members may be able to learn more about jobs in the trades and get connected to these jobs. 


Go Green Cricket & Sports Field Project

The Go Green Cricket & Sports Field Project is dedicated to providing community benefits through its revitalized outdoor facility in Thorncliffe Park. The $2.3 million project enhanced the school yard with a multi-purpose cricket field, a multi-sport court, an outdoor amphitheatre, bio-swale, butterfly meadow, interpretive marsh and urban forest. Night-time LED sports lighting was also added. Go Green now operates accessible youth-led year-round programs in cricket, multi-sports and eco-arts, field local youth teams in the Toronto & District Cricket Association and permits its facility to community groups and outside users. 


FYI (For Youth Initiative)

On October 16, 2014 FYI (For Youth Initiative) hosted a resident engagement session for residents living in the northwest area of Toronto in order to inform them on what a Community Benefits Agreement is, the benefits of a CBA, who the Toronto Community Benefits Network is, and how residents can benefit from a CBA. 35 participants were served. These participants included teenagers of African-descent and young adults living in low-income households.


Philippine Advancement Through Arts and Culture

On May 30, 2015 in collaboration with the Philippine Advancement Through Arts and Culture and TCBN, the Filipino Workers Network hosted a construction trades information seminar for Toronto's Filipino community at the Bendale Toronto Public Library in Scarborough. The seminar provided information on jobs available in the construction trades. A total of 75 participants were served.
